8. When I transition from non-exempt to exempt status, what will happen to my accumulated compensatory (comp) time in lieu of overtime pay?

According to policy, the compensatory time balance will be paid out following the change from non-exempt to exempt status. It is important to note compensatory time earned must be used before vacation hours. Essentially, if you wish to take approved vacation prior to the transition to exempt status and have accrued comp time available, the comp time must be used first before vacation accruals.
