Reviewing Employee Requests

  1. When an exempt employee submits a time Off request, a notification will be sent through email to the manager and Time editors. To take action on any submitted requests, go to the My Notifications tile and click on Employee Requests..

  2. You can also get to Employee Requests by clicking the arrow at the top of the My Notifications tile.Click on Arrow
  3. Before we look at requests, you need to be aware of changes to the deadlines for approving time off requests first.Rules to Remember
  4. Clicking on either Employee Requests or the arrow on the My Notifications tile will take you to the Control Center.Example of Control Center
  5. Here you can view system notifications, requests submitted by your employees, and your own time off requests. For this training, we will review employee requests only.Example of Employee Requests
  6. Let's look at the action buttons across the top of the employee request page. Time off actions include Approve, Refuse, Add, Comments, Pending, Edit, Cancel, and Delete. For the most part, these actions are self-explanatory.Example of Action Buttons
  7. Mark done should only be selected for fully completed requests. This will remove the request from the count that is displayed in my notifications.Example Mark Done
  8. Clicking on Go to will take you directly to the Schedule planner, which will be discussed later.Example of Go To
  9. Before taking action, you need to review the details of the request. To do so, click on the request and the Details pane will be visible on the right side of the page. Open each section by clicking on the down arrow next to the heading.Example of Details
  10. Click to Add notes, Review available balances, beginning and end dates, total hours requested, employee comments, and status history.

  12. Taking Action on a Request
  13. First, I want to add a comment, so I will select Add Comment from the list of actions. All comments are visible to both employees and managers. Comments are not required when submitting or approving a time off request.Add a Commnet
  14. In the Comments box, click on Add a Comment.Comments Box
  15. Select Request Comment and hit the Add button. You must add a comment before taking other actions.Click Select Request
  16. Action buttons will now be available at the bottom of the panel. Hit Approve.Click Approve
  17. Change the filter to Approved
  18. By default, the Control Center displays only time off requests that require action or attention.Example of Time Off Requests
  19. To return to the homepage, click on the Home icon.
